Protein Chia Seed Coconut Java Chip Frappuccino

I was craving a Starbucks frappuccino today so I created this protein rich, low calorie version of my fave drink. No whip, thanks.

For 2 people (or even 1 person if you want ?)

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon hemp hearts
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (I use hemp protein, it’s not as sweet)
  • 1 tablespoon toasted slivered coconut
  • 1 tablespoon dark chocolate chips (you can use more if you wish)
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1 shot cold or room temp espresso coffee
  1. Combine chia seeds, almond milk, protein powder and hemp hearts. Stir well using a spoon and let the mixture stand on the counter for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add coconut, crushed ice and chocolate chips and blend well.
  3. Add espresso coffee and blend until slushy consistency.
  4. Pour and serve immediately.
